BestCare Treatment Services is recruiting for a Full-time Respite Program Supervisor  for the new Brooks Crisis Respite & Recovery Center due to open in the fall of 2017.

Supervisor:  Program Administrator 

Degree of Supervision: This position coordinates, manages and supervises services provided within psychiatric crisis-respite.  This position supervises respite direct care staff in accordance with Oregn Administrative Rules.

Education: Master's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, behavior science, or related field, required.

Language: Bi-Lingual Spanish/English strongly preferred

General Description: 

Administers and directs Brooks Respite services to promote crisis stabilization.  Provides direct treatment and stabilization services to individuals in psychiatric crisis.  Provides leadership and direct supervision to all respite program staff.

Position Duties:

  1.  Clinical Services  

  • Demonstrate competence in case management and coordination, utilization of community resources, group, family, and individual therapy or counseling.
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment including histories of mental and physical health, substance use, criminal justice contacts and assessing family, cultural, social and work relationships.  Ability to provide diagnosis consistent with DSM-5.
  • Perform ongoing crisis and safety evaluations to clients experiencing psychiatric crisis
  • Perform individual and group treatment sessions, as well as delegate these functions to appropriate clinical staff. Document and provide rationale for services provided.
  • Case Management:  Promote integrated treatment services through coordination with mental health, substance use, and medical treatment service providers.
  • Demonstrate skills in de-escalation and services that promote crisis stabilization.
  • Knowledge of strength-based and trauma-informed interventions appropriate for crisis stabilization-- such as Intentional Peer Support, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and other trauma-informed practices.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality per HIPAA, 42 CFR, Oregn Statutes and Brooks Policies.

  2.  Team Supervision and Leadership

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage time effectively, model good communication skills, act independently, problem solve complex issues, and organization
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage facility milieu and safety
  • Afterhours on-call and accessible by telephone for personnel support, admission screening, and emergencies. Must and provide documentation and follow-up in a timely manner
  • May be required to provide shift coverage in emergency situations
  • Manage admissions to crisis-respite placement, in accordance with program admission criteria
  • Develop and maintain staff schedule, on-call rotation, and other tasks related to scheduling
  • Provide & document supervision for each program staff in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules
  • Provide orientation and training to program staff to maintain program operation and compliance
  • Develop and maintain staff schedule, on-call rotation, and other tasks related to scheduling
  • May be required to provide shift coverage in emergency situations
  • Works closely with other program staff as a member of a multidisciplinary team and is dedicated to a healthy work environment for the benefit of employees and clients served.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with community partners, including St. Charles hospital, law enforcement, community mental health programs, and other similar agencies. Promote Brooks Respite & Recovery through a partnership.
  • Assist with chart and program audits to ensure compliance with facility accreditation, licensing, State laws, and other regulatory requirements
  • Assist in conducting annual performance evaluations of program staff
  • May assist Administrator with daily oversight of stabilizing individuals, personnel, and provide feedback to Brooks leadership team as directed by the Administrator.
  • Attend required program meetings, trainings, and supervision designated by Administrator

  3.  Other duties as assigned by Administrator

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, behavioral science, or related field, required
  • Post-graduate experience in mental health setting, preferred
  • Experience providing services to individuals with Severe and Persistence Mental Illness (SPMI), preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate good communication,flexibility and milieu management.  Ability to work effectively in a variety of cultural contexts.
  • Understanding and competency serving individuals experiencing psychiatric crisis, including individuals that present with complex co-occurring mental health, substance use, and/or medical disorders.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers.

Tools and Equipment Used:

Must have competency using computer for work processing, databases, internet, and electronic medical record usage. Experience with Microsoft Office is a plus. Must be able to use basic office equipment including fax machine and telephone. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.  Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule depending on program needs.

Must have reliable transportation.
